The DLP Dream Live Prosper family of companies celebrated the 2018 holiday season by once again helping those in need.
“It’s imperative that we, as both individuals and a company, help the communities in which we live and do so in a tangible way,” says CEO and founder Don Wenner. “The importance of giving, both monetarily and physically, will help others in need and create a positive environment which encourages paying it forward.”
Feeding the Hungry in November
In November, DLP team members, investors, and tenants came together to bring a happier Thanksgiving to thousands of families.
DLP Capital Partners held a campaign that would donate 10,000 meals (through Feeding America) for every $1 million of capital raised. With over $3 million brought in, 30,000 meals were donated in November and December!
At DLP Prosper Azalea, our apartment community in Valdosta, Georgia, residents donated cans of non-perishable food that were donated to Project Rescue, an organization that helps feed the homeless. Monetary gift cards were also donated to Project LAMP, a homeless shelter in Valdosta. In return, residents also had the chance to win gift cards to a local supermarket to help cover costs for their own Thanksgiving dinners. “Through a combined effort of both residents of our community along with DLP team members, we were grateful to have the opportunity to work together in order to help others,” commented Andrea Pittman, Leasing and Marketing Manager for DLP Property Management. DLP Property Management also distributed free turkeys to lucky raffle winners at The Village at Iris Glen, in Conyers, Georgia.

Providing a Merrier Christmas in December
Throughout December, DLP collected hundreds of Christmas presents for The Marine Toys for Tots Program. Collection bins at all of DLP’s office locations from the northeast to the southeast were filled with toys and games for less fortunate children.
As we do every December, DLP team members also “adopted” families in need. This year, we played Santa for four children from the Valley Youth House, which empowers and strengthens the lives of at-risk children, youth, and families. We also provided Christmas presents and gift cards for seven families living in our DLP apartment communities in South Carolina, Mississippi, Georgia, and Alabama. New clothes and shoes, toys, electronics, books, games, and gift cards were just some of the gifts we delivered.
Additionally, several of our DLP apartment communities hosted fun holiday parties for residents, including cookie decorating and other special treats. Our property managers were generous with both their time and money, making the holidays festive and fun for residents.
Helping Others All Year Long
While the holidays are traditionally known as the ‘season of giving,’ our employees will continue to give back to our communities all year long. Whether through Second Harvest Food Bank, Habitat for Humanity, Everlasting Life Ministries, Good Works, the DLP Positive Returns Foundation, and more – there’s always a way we show we care.
