We Dream, Live, and Prosper as a Community: DLP’s Annual Food Drive

By Katherine Santiago

At Dream Live Prosper (DLP), we are not only creating prosperity through real estate solutions, but through volunteer efforts as well.

For four years, our Charity Committee has organized a food drive for Second Harvest Food Bank. Second Harvest Food Bank manages a number of programs to further their mission of aiding those who are at-risk for hunger in their six-county area throughout Pennsylvania’s Lehigh Valley. Their mission is to obtain food and distribute it to people in need through area non-profits and to provide resources for education and advocacy to end hunger.

DLP’s Contribution

Katherine Hunter, member of DLP’s Charity Committee, contacted a representative at Second Harvest and coordinated DLP’s participation and on March 17th, DLP officially began its food drive. Katherine and members of the committee went door to door in different neighborhoods locally, dropping off flyers and donation bags and gathering canned foods and household goods (light bulbs, soap, toothpaste, etc.). With donations from employees at DLP and members of the committee, they gathered 275 pounds of food– topping their total last year of 243 pounds of food.

“Having this annual food drive does not just align with one of our core values but represents them all,” says Katherine Hunter. “DLP is always striving to deliver WOW, whether it’s at work or in the community. We want to get our mission and core values out there to help or inspire just one person to pass it on and to always dream, live and prosper.”

On April 2nd, DLP’s transporter, Ron Reiker, delivered the donations to Second Harvest Food Bank.

“I wanted to give you all a HUGE thank you for all the food and household items that were donated to Second Harvest this year! It really was a great turn out. Imagine all the families you fed,” said Katherine to DLP employees. “Thank you again from the bottom of my heart!”
